Why We're Celebrating a Cartoon Trivia Medal

The TGD

There is nothing quite like the "Final Toss." It’s that moment your student walks through the door, drops their backpack like it’s radioactive, and declares they aren't touching it for three months. It’s a sensory signal that the pressure is finally off.

We’re celebrating right alongside you. We’ve had some big wins at TGD Coach lately: Ed finally secured a medal at a local cartoon trivia contest, and Tabitha finally nailed her aerial chopper (her muscles are still processing that one). Beyond the fun stuff, we’ve been busy getting our new resources out into the community and, most importantly, watching a massive wave of client wins as the school year wraps.

But here’s the reality: once that backpack is tossed, your brain naturally archives the loudest friction points to protect you from future threats. The problem is that if we only remember the hard parts, we reinforce a narrative of struggle.

So, we want to intentionally shift our focus away from the friction and pivot toward celebrating the wins. To build actual self-efficacy, we have to gather those data points of success so "September-You" feels capable and prepared.

Therefore, instead of our usual tips and growth mindset this week, we want to share some highlights and wins with you.

On the business side, we made fliers and rack cards, gave a presentation about executive function skills and networking to Loudoun’s Lunch and Learn for small businesses, and started attending local networking events.

On the client side, check out our instagram for so many of our weekly wins!

Here are some of our favorites!

Remember: If you need some help to celebrate, or if your reflections reveal some systems or skills gaps, we have a few Summer Sessions available.  We are also starting our Fall Waitlist now.
