The 5-S Audit: A Different Kind of Year-End Review

The TGD

We’re almost there.

There is a specific, slightly frantic energy to this time of year—the smell of sunscreen mixed with the dust of emptied lockers.

Ed is excited to hand out end-of-year awards, but that doesn’t compare to the joy of seeing the mountain of old tri-folds finally exit his classroom. It’s the season of "done," and there's a huge relief in that.

You made it, and it’s very fair to just want to shut the door on the last ten months.

And, our brains are biologically wired to dump completed tasks. But… we also don’t want to treat every September like a brand-new puzzle.

Let’s take a quick pause and use the data on your phone to look back with actual clarity.

The Tip: Take the time to reflect.

Set a timer for 10 minutes and scroll through your photos from August to now.

Look for "Highs" (wins) and "Lows" (friction points) in these five areas: Study, School, Sleep, Special Interests, and Social Life. When you find them, physically ♥️ the "Highs" and screenshot the "Lows" into a folder named "Project 2026."

Grow: Remember to stay in your growth mindset.

When things stall, it’s just a system breakdown showing where the friction lives, usually because a project's decision density was too high for the support in place. We're looking for systems that keep things moving so we don't have to reinvent the wheel in the fall.

Develop:

If you need some help to reflect, or if that reflection reveals some systems or skills gaps, we have a few Summer Sessions to bridge the gap. We are also starting our Fall Waitlist now. Let’s take that "Project 2026" folder and build a

strategy that actually fits the way your student's brain works.
