Summer Challenge Week 4: How BTS and Reel 2 Real Can Get You to MOVE IT! Out the Door on Time

The TGD

This week, we’re tackling Time Management using sensory signals and songs.

Time Management

Definition: The capacity to estimate how much time one has and how to stay within time limits.

Why it matters: Many neurodivergent brains struggle with "feeling" time. To calibrate that internal clock, we can flip the script and make our vocab more concrete and relatable or use more fun and friendly techniques like music.

Try it with us - this week, instead of saying “we’re leaving in 15 minutes," use a playlist! Make a leaving the house playlist and use auditory cues in the songs as the reminders - make it fun and create it with your family.

Ed and Tabitha’s Pool Pass Playlist:

  1. Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things”

    1. Sensory friendly transition song (calm reminder that the transition time is starting)

  2. Reel 2 Real’s “I like to Move it!”

    1. Get moving transition song (short and with a dance beat to get you up and moving)

  3. BTS’s “Swim”

    1. Song with the activity (swimming)

  4. Mott NitRam’s “Sunshine at the Beach”

    1. Song with auditory cues to help your working memory (sunscreen, towels, flip flops)

  5. George Ezra’s “Shotgun”

    1. Transportation song (bike/drive/walk/dance to the pool)

Your Turn to Play

How did your family work on reframing time calibration this week? What’s on your playlist?

The Logistics

  • Do the Work: Pick a weekly activity targeting these skills to earn your digital sticker.

  • Show Us: Share a photo on Instagram or Facebook and tag @TGDCoach, or email your picture directly to our team.

  • Explain the "Why": Include a quick note on why your activity counts toward that specific skill so we can see the science translate.

  • The Reward: Collect all 12 skill stickers by the end of the summer to be automatically entered to win a free coaching session.
