"If-Then" triggers to beat the mid-winter slump

Last week we built the bobsled track. This week, we’re trading the "Manual Shovel" for a "Ski Lift" to stop the over-thinking and start the doing.
We have talked about how the Prefrontal Cortex (the CEO) is like a Manual Snow Shovel—it’s exhausted from all the "deciding" and "starting." To save energy, we want to hand off the work to the Striatum (the habit center).

Think of the Prefrontal Cortex like a Hiker trying to climb a snowy peak—every step is a conscious, painful choice. The Striatum is the Ski Lift. You don't "think" your way up the mountain on a lift; you just sit down, the bar drops, and physics does the rest.
The "If-Then" rule is simply sitting in the chair. Once you’re in, the thinking ends and the movement begins.

The TGD
TIP (Trust):
THE TINY TASK: THE SKI LIFT MENU Pick one of these triggers to "load the lift" this afternoon:
The Phone Swap: "IF I sit down at my desk, THEN I plug my phone into the kitchen charger."
The 5-Word Kickstart: "IF I open my laptop, THEN I will type five random words just to break the blank page."
The Transition Anchor: "IF I finish my cocoa, THEN I open my planner to today’s date."
THE SCRIPT: "I noticed that 'thinking' about starting is making you more tired than the homework itself. It’s like trying to hike up the mountain instead of taking the lift. Let’s pick a 'Ski Lift' trigger for tonight. If you sit down at your desk, what is the one tiny step that gets the chair moving so you don't have to use all your energy just to start?"
GROW (Mindset):
When the "start" doesn't happen, don't blame the hiker. Check the lift. Is the trigger (the chair) clear and unavoidable? Remember, over-thinking is a biological symptom of a drained battery. We aren't looking for more "willpower"; we are looking for better "automation."
DIVE (Develop):
We are moving from "effortful processing" to "automaticity." By using a concrete physical cue, we bypass the part of the brain that argues and procrastinates, and head straight to the part that executes habits.
